Visit by Dean of St George’s College, Jerusalem
The Dean of St George’s College, Jerusalem, the Rev Canon Richard Sewell, paid a brief visit to Sydney recently as the first part of his tour of Australia and New Zealand. Many of ABM’s supporters have travelled to the Holy Land and of those, a good proportion will have undertaken a study-pilgrimage through St George’s College. Fr Richard preached at Christ Church St Laurence’s 9.00 and 10.30am Pentecost Eucharists and then addressed about thirty people in the parish hall after lunch. He spoke about pilgrimage and the college’s work as well as about what life is like for Palestinian Christians in Israel and Palestine, particularly Anglicans. He travelled to Brisbane from Sydney and then on to Auckland and Wellington. He, and Archbishop Hosam Naoum, the Archbishop of Jerusalem and the Middle East, are to be guests at next week’s Ministry Conference hosted by the Diocese of Melbourne.
