In 2015, 193 world leaders committed to 17 Global Goals to achieve three extraordinary things over the next 15 years. End extreme poverty. Fight inequality and injustice. And fix climate change.
The Global Goals for Sustainable Development emerged from an extensive global conversation about our common aspirations for the future of our planet. We and our partners participated in some of the consultations leading to the development of the Global Goals which affirm the projects already being undertaken by AID’s partners around the world.
AID’s Sustainable Communities projects all aim to contribute to one or more of the goals and their targets.
While COVID-19 is set to widen the gap between people living in rich and poor countries some research shows the goals are still achievable if certain bold steps are taken. Read more here.
