Latest report from the Reverend Gloria Shipp
ABM would like to congratulate the Reverend Gloria Shipp, who has been inducted into the Parish Hall of Fame of St Paul’s Anglican Church in Manuka, Canberra.
The parish wrote to the Rev’d Gloria that the Hall of Fame features “First Nations role models. This is an initiative… in line with the 2023 NAIDOC Week theme of ‘For Our Elders’… We congratulate you on your work over many years and many different groups you have supported in your various communities. You have been a wonderful role model for those communities and for us in Canberra.”
The Rev’d Gloria also continued her pastoral ministry, officiating at a wedding at Burra Bee Dee Mission, near Coonabarabran, and performed baptisms in Warren, Nyngan, and Dubbo.
She and Eddie participated in NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation activities, including Eddie performing a smoking ceremony at the unveiling of signage acknowledging the massacre which took place on the Bogan River in October 1841.
