Partners meet in Port Moresby
Partners’ Meeting – A brief update by Dennis Kabekabe, Acting General Secretary of the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea (ACPNG).
The Overseas Partners meeting was a successful three days’ meeting with our Anglican Church partners from the Anglican Churches in Australia and New Zealand. The meeting was attended by Archbishop Geoff Smith (Primate) and Bishop Cameron Venables (Diocese of Southern Queensland) as well as Bishop Andrew Hedge from Waiapu Diocese, Anglican Church of Aotearoa, Polynesia and New Zealand.
Port Moresby Diocese warmly welcomed the church partners along with the three ACPNG Bishops; Acting Archbishop Nathan Ingen (also Bishop of Aipo-Rongo), Bishop Lindsley Ihove (Popondota Diocese) and Bishop Reginald Makele (Niugini Islands Diocese). The meeting was also attended by ACPNG Chancellor Sir Bernard Sakora, Director of Finance Mr James Raurela, Acting General Secretary Mr Dennis Kabekabe and Thelma Guni.
ACPNG is ever so grateful for their time, friendship, praying and fellowship together. We listened to one another, sharing and telling stories of the challenges in doing God’s work and mission in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. We discussed how best to effectively partner in addressing common areas that need economic, social and skilled personnel support.
Thanks to ABM and AID for providing the funds to facilitate the Partners’ meeting and to the Anglican National Office staff for support and logistics.
