The food security component of the project will begin in the communities of Dioceses of Central Melanesia and Guadalcanal. It will include backyard gardening demonstrations, distribution of plants and tools, and assistance with identifying market opportunities for established local farmers.

The climate resilience component will include rehabilitating sea walls and protecting mangroves in the Dioceses of Ysabel and Central Honiara, collecting climate impact data and raising environmental and climate awareness.

A third component of the project involves hygiene awareness and preventing the spread of COVID-19. This component includes installing a new water tank and handwashing basins at St Stephen’s Secondary School in Pamua in the Diocese of Hanuato’o and distributing Personal Protective Equipment to students, teachers, and their families. Local health workers at the provincial level will be engaged to conduct awareness-raising on COVID-19 and personal hygiene.

The project aims to reach 7,725 people directly.
